Christmas Reflection, A Personal Message From Laurie Rigg RN

During this busy season of sharing, caring, community, family, and world consciousness, we pause and reflect on the many blessings that have come our way in the past year, and express thanks and gratitude to our loved ones and associates.

It is a joy to share our vision and knowledge of wellness with our many clients from Waterdown, and beyond. We are most grateful for all of you who place your confidence in us and so diligently strive for true and vital health.

I am particularly thankful for the awesome gifts of 2018.

Very unexpectedly, in April, the opportunity to fulfill a life long dream came my way. Dr. Jaklin, the very well known and outstanding Naturopathic Dr, Functional Medicine Practitioner and Matriarch of The Waterdown Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine offered me the opportunity of purchasing her thriving clinic, which had been her labour of love, nurtured and built for over fifteen years. My vision of spearheading a facility that offers holistic, powerfully therapeutic health care, using the gifts we have been provided on this earth to preserve us, to heal us, to keep us thriving, came to life when Dr Jaklin passed me the keys of her beautiful clinic.

The Waterdown Clinic of Functional and Integrative Medicine was born July 26th.

It is thrilling to be associated with the outstanding team of professionals who share that vision and are on the same mission. Thank you to Dr Jaklin, Dr Peric, our Naturopathic Drs, Meghan Crewson, our 5th year Osteopathic Candidate, Cavan Edwards, our Neurobiofeedback Therapist, Chantal Mulhern, our Live Blood Analyst and Nancy Britton our Sensitivity Testing Technician.

We have added the services of Dr Andrew Kiellerman, a Medical Dr, who specializes in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy and Functional Medicine. Dr Kiellerman brings over 30 years experience as a family Dr, whose passion is to work with the fundamentals of human physiology and hormone replacement to help guide you to optimize your health. Dr Kiellerman is known for his expertise in treating autoimmune conditions, particularly Hashimitos thyroiditis. He is also certified in the Alzheimer’s Disease Therapy, the Bredesen Protocol.

To ring in the new year, The Waterdown Clinic is very excited to be offering new services to the community.

Intravenous Vitamin and Nutrient Therapy will be offered in January. Replenishing and optimizing nutrients intravenously is the most efficient method of delivering vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants for direct absorption into your cells. IV Therapy is excellent for treating chronic inflammatory conditions such as Lyme Disease and cancer, as well as colds, flu, and overall prevention and nutritional optimization. It is akin to putting a tiger in your tank, or giving your car a super tuneup.

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy will be introduced in February/March. This phenomenal treatment uses your own platelets, concentrated white blood cells and other serum factors to promote wound healing, treat erectile dysfunction, promote hair growth, treat joint pain, and can be also be used cosmetically, instead of Botox to produce visibly fresher and smoother skin.

We thank you for your patronage, and look forward to serving you in the New Year and are honoured to share in your journey to optimal health!
