No doubt the grills have been sparked up in honour of summer. So much you can do on the BBQ in a healthy delicious way!
Tips to Keep The Flare Ups Down
We know that flare ups cause nasty carcinogens on whatever is on the grill so we need to reduce that as much as possible. Here are some healthy tips to help manage the flare.
- Let excess marinade drip off well before you put food on the BBQ.
- Avoid marinades with sugar and booze because they flare fast!
- Use a ‘Low and Slow’ approach. Heat the grill up to get a good searing effect and then turn the heat down and cook gently until finished. You can also use indirect cooking by turning the side burners on high and leave the middle burners off (or really low) – both of they produce excellent grilling results.
- Keep your grill clean. Don’t let this meals grease be the next meal’s flash flare!
